Whittier Park

Whittier Park features the rebuilt historic Fort Gibraltar, a site crucial to Saint-Boniface’s history as a fur-trading community. The original Fort Gibraltar was built in 1809 and was ultimately destroyed by the Red River flooding in 1852, after having been destroyed by a fire in 1817 and rebuilt. Here you can enjoy exploring the site of the reconstructed Fort. Whittier Park is also the site of the Festival du Voyageur, a festival focused on preserving and promoting the reach of French language and culture as well as bringing to life the fur trade era.
