{"id":1878,"date":"2020-09-23T14:56:06","date_gmt":"2020-09-23T18:56:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/passionethistoire.ca\/?p=1878"},"modified":"2021-04-12T12:47:19","modified_gmt":"2021-04-12T16:47:19","slug":"passion-histoire-blog-5-reasons-to-visit-the-ccfm","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/passionethistoire.ca\/en\/passion-histoire-blog-5-reasons-to-visit-the-ccfm\/","title":{"rendered":"PASSION &#038; HISTOIRE BLOG &#8211; 5 Reasons to Visit the CCFM"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col-xl-10 col-lg-10 col-md-12 col-sm-12 col-12 mx-auto\"><strong>The CCFM (Franco-Manitoban Cultural Centre) at 340 Provencher Blvd. plays a key role in Winnipeg and Manitoba\u2019s francophone art and culture.\u00a0 Its mandate is to broadcast, promote, and sponsor cultural and artistic activities in French for all Manitobans.\u00a0 As you\u2019ll see with the fall\/winter programming, it\u2019s \u201cmission accomplished\u201d!\u00a0<\/strong><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"description\" class=\"row block-sm\">\n<div class=\"col-xl-10 col-lg-10 col-md-12 col-sm-12 col-12 mx-auto\">\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3><strong>5 Reasons to Visit the CCFM\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3>For a dance class<\/h3>\n<p>The CCFM houses a school of dance for all ages!\u00a0 If you\u2019re looking to dance or would like your kids to learn to dance or perfect hip-hop, ballet, jazz, you\u2019re in the right place.\u00a0 The CCFM also offers courses in jigging and traditional folkloric dance to continue the transfer of Franco-Manitoban heritage!<\/p>\n<h3>To eat a tourti\u00e8re<\/h3>\n<p>There wasn\u2019t a French-Canadian Pavillion to visit this year as the Folklorama festival didn\u2019t take place, but it\u2019s no big deal, there\u2019s tourti\u00e8re year-round at the CCFM!\u00a0 To enjoy this traditional French-Canadian fare, head to Stella\u2019s, a restaurant serving you in both official languages.<\/p>\n<p>A little anecdote:\u00a0 tourti\u00e8re was initially only offered on the menu at Stella\u2019s in Saint-Boniface but its popularity made it so that we can now eat it at every Stella\u2019s restaurant in Winnipeg!<\/p>\n<h3>To laugh<\/h3>\n<p>The CCFM frequently organizes comedy shows. \u201cLa LIM,\u201d a Franco-Manitoban improvisation league, meets every Friday night to surround themselves with people and good laughs.\u00a0 A surprise awaits us at the end of the year to bid adieu to this weird year that has been 2020.<\/p>\n<h3>To listen to jazz<\/h3>\n<p>Every two weeks, on Tuesday nights at the CCFM, you can enjoy an evening of jazz.
