A Mother\u2019s Day under health restrictions isn\u2019t necessarily much fun, but a little care and indulgence can turn the day around! My mom is on the other side of the Atlantic, but here\u2019s what I would plan for us if we were both in Winnipeg together:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

1 – A Stroll and a Cr\u00eape<\/span><\/h3>\n

The weather forecast is calling for a sunny Sunday, so why not walk around Saint-Boniface with a cr\u00eape in hand? The two French owners of <\/span>Ker Breizh <\/b>are set up at their kiosk on the Esplanade Riel for the third consecutive year. Following traditional recipes, they offer both sweet and savoury cr\u00eapes, or one of each if you\u2019re really hungry. Want to know my favourite? \u00a02 – Flowers or Plants<\/span><\/h3>\n

Saint-Boniface is home to a wonderful florist, at 139 Marion Street: <\/span>Norwood Florist Design Studio<\/b>. Flowers are in high demand this year, but it\u2019s not too late to treat your mom. Bouquets will be ready on Friday afternoon and available for pick up at the shop.<\/span><\/p>\n

St-L\u00e9on Gardens<\/b> on St Mary\u2019s Road opened for the season last Friday, just in time for Mother\u2019s Day. They\u2019re open every day, which will come in handy for anyone needing to buy a last minute gift on Sunday. They have plants, flowers, cards, and all kinds of local products.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

3 – Chocolate<\/span><\/h3>\n

When in doubt, just buy chocolate, and <\/span>Constance Popp<\/b> has something for every occasion. Her Mother\u2019s Day creations are available <\/span>online<\/span><\/a>, for delivery, or in-store at 180 Provencher Blvd. Cupcakes, floral inspired chocolates, products that are just as delicious as they are beautiful!\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

4 – Delicacies\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

The opportunities for good food and treats are endless in Saint-Boniface. <\/span>Promenade Caf\u00e9<\/b> offers a vast selection of meals for pickup on Saturday or Sunday – check their <\/span>website<\/span><\/a>, or you can come and enjoy a delicious meal on their patio, recently opened for the season.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

La Belle Baguette<\/b> is offering Mother\u2019s Day specials in-store.<\/span> Bothwell Cheese <\/b>has gift baskets for sale in-store or for delivery. For the coffee-loving moms, <\/span>Caf\u00e9 Postal <\/b>and the newly opened <\/span>Colosimo<\/b> both sell coffee, in addition to coffee makers and specialty products.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
