In just a few days, summer will officially be here. Is there anything better than celebrating with a picnic in a park?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The supplies<\/span><\/h2>\n

To stock up, head to <\/span>Bothwell Cheese<\/span><\/a> and choose from their wide selection of local products. I love the Cocina corn chips, made right in Sainte-Anne, Manitoba. On the bread side of things, you can find baguettes from La Belle Baguette right at Bothwell if you don\u2019t have the time to go to the actual bakery on De La Cath\u00e9drale avenue. Of course, in my basket, I\u2019ll have Bothwell cheese.<\/span><\/p>\n

For fresh produce, fruits and veggies, <\/span>St-L\u00e9on Gardens<\/span><\/a> is the best place to go. I have never tried kombucha but <\/span>Prism<\/span><\/a>, brewed in Manitoba and owned exclusively by St-L\u00e9on Gardens, seems to be the right choice for a first experience!<\/span><\/p>\n

For dessert, there are treats from the St-Pierre Bakery sold at St-L\u00e9on Gardens. Another option would be a pastry from Le Croissant on Tach\u00e9 ave, or a milkshake from Colosimo, the new coffee shop on Provencher!<\/span><\/p>\n

Where to?<\/span><\/h2>\n

The errands are done, now to the park: Whittier Park, Provencher Park, Happyland Park on Marion street, or St. Vital Park.<\/span><\/p>\n

Some of the parks have tables and benches, but just to be extra prepared might as well bring a blanket !<\/span><\/p>\n

What now?<\/span><\/h2>\n

You can stretch your legs and take advantage of the numerous trails and paths in Saint-Boniface and Saint-Vital, find some <\/span>historical buildings<\/span><\/a>, see the painted bridges on the river Seine (<\/span>here\u2019s the map<\/span><\/a>), do some <\/span>geocaching<\/span><\/a>\u2026 Or grab some ice cream !<\/span><\/p>\n
