As the year comes to an end, one of the best ways to say goodbye to it in style is with activities and gourmet experiences in Saint-Boniface! <\/strong><\/p>\n

In the culinary scene<\/span><\/h2>\n

For New Year\u2019s Eve on December 31, the <\/span>Wood Tavern<\/span><\/a> is offering a 1920s-themed evening with a set menu and dance party.<\/span><\/p>\n

Resto Gare<\/span><\/a> has a festive and appetizing menu; while <\/span>Inferno\u2019s<\/span><\/a> is also a safe bet since the menu is available on all home delivery apps. <\/span>Promenade Caf\u00e9<\/span><\/a> offers meals to heat at home, which comes in handy on those busy holiday days! Otherwise, they offer a festive 5-course menu on December 22, 23, 29 and 30 by reservation. <\/span>Pasquale\u2019s<\/span><\/a> allows you to come and pick up your meals on the 24th, or dine in on December 31st for New Years Eve.<\/span><\/p>\n

For the activities<\/span><\/h2>\n

The Winnipeg Christmas Map<\/span><\/a> has become a winter staple in our city: in Saint-Boniface, Windsor Park, or Saint-Vital, you\u2019ll find houses upon houses with holiday decorations, each one more beautiful than the last. <\/span><\/p>\n

Don\u2019t miss the lovely decorations lighting up Provencher Boulevard, or the ones on the front fa\u00e7ade of the University of Saint-Boniface. <\/span><\/p>\n

We can\u2019t forget the Fromagerie Bothwell\u2019s cow, Tee-Moo, and its festive costumes! <\/span><\/p>\n

Now, is it really winter in Winnipeg without lacing up your skates? There are so many places to glide on the ice in Saint-Boniface and its surroundings. Outdoor rinks are available at Champlain Community Centre (282 Niverville Ave), Notre-Dame Rec Centre (271 de la Cath\u00e9drale Ave), and Norwood Community Centre (87 Walmer Street). The Seine river is another great option, where someone even already cleared a skating rink at the end of Dubuc Street! I\u2019m sure with the colder weather, more little rinks will pop-up all along the river.<\/span><\/p>\n

This next one is slightly out of the way, but makes for a great rural day-trip: the Centre of Canada on the Transcanada highway has a skating rink for the first time! It\u2019s a lovely lit up spot, and will make you feel special since not many people are able to say that they have skated in the geographic center of the country!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Another winter sport commonly practiced in Saint-Boniface: cross-country skiing. The trails at <\/span>Windsor Park Nordic Centre<\/span><\/a> are open daily except on December 25, and ski equipment is available for rental, making Windsor Park the perfect place for beginners. More experienced skiers can head to the Saint-Vital park, where 5 km of trails await them. 5 other kilometers of trails are also accessible for walking, for a total of ten kilometers of outdoor exercise!<\/span><\/p>\n
