Maybe you’ve seen already that in Japan, it’s possible to collect eki stamps in subway stations. This free activity dates back to 1931, and visitors can collect these stamps in notebooks. The stamps can represent mascots, important landmarks or local specialities.
Norwood Grove BIZ and Tourisme Riel collaborated to bring this concept to Saint-Boniface to hilight our local heritage. Come collect them all!
What if Saint-Boniface became your next open-air adventure?
Saint-Boniface (Manitoba) β July 16, 2026
Β
What if every street corner held a new discovery? What if a simple walk turned into a game, an exploration, a series of surprises?
This summer, Saint-Boniface invites you to slow down⦠and play.
With Stamp-tations, Tourisme Riel and the ZAC Norwood Grove BIZ are introducing a simple yet addictive experience: with a stamp book in hand, visitors set out to explore the neighbourhood step by step, stamp by stamp.
Inspired by Japanβs famous stamp rallies, the route turns the streets of Saint-Boniface into a living playground. You pause, you step inside, you discover, you collect β and above all, you rediscover the joy of wandering.
βSaint-Boniface is a place to be experienced. Stamp-tations offers a new way to enter it, to get a little lost in it, and to leave with your own unique memories. Itβs an invitation to explore differently, at your own pace, with curiosity and enjoyment,β says Erwan Bouchaud, Executive Director of Entreprises Riel.
βThere is something magical about seeing people moving from one business to another, stamp book in hand, smiling as they go. Stamp-tations brings the neighbourhood to life in a different way: it creates stops, encounters, and a real desire to step through the door,β adds Sheila Tan, Executive Director of the ZAC Norwood Grove BIZ.
Free and open to all, the experience is designed for families, visitors, locals, and weekend explorers alike. Stamp books are available at Tourisme Riel (219 Provencher Boulevard) for $5, with new stamps being added throughout the summer to extend the experience.
Stamp-tations is made possible thanks to the support of Canadian Parents for French, the ZAC Provencher Boulevard BIZ, and Travel Manitoba.
