5 Reasons to Visit the CCFM 

For a dance class

The CCFM houses a school of dance for all ages!  If you’re looking to dance or would like your kids to learn to dance or perfect hip-hop, ballet, jazz, you’re in the right place.  The CCFM also offers courses in jigging and traditional folkloric dance to continue the transfer of Franco-Manitoban heritage!

To eat a tourtière

There wasn’t a French-Canadian Pavillion to visit this year as the Folklorama festival didn’t take place, but it’s no big deal, there’s tourtière year-round at the CCFM!  To enjoy this traditional French-Canadian fare, head to Stella’s, a restaurant serving you in both official languages.

A little anecdote:  tourtière was initially only offered on the menu at Stella’s in Saint-Boniface but its popularity made it so that we can now eat it at every Stella’s restaurant in Winnipeg!

To laugh

The CCFM frequently organizes comedy shows. “La LIM,” a Franco-Manitoban improvisation league, meets every Friday night to surround themselves with people and good laughs.  A surprise awaits us at the end of the year to bid adieu to this weird year that has been 2020.

To listen to jazz

Every two weeks, on Tuesday nights at the CCFM, you can enjoy an evening of jazz. For seven or ten dollars, come and listen to musicians in this unique and intimate setting.  The concerts will resume in October.

To view Francophone films

The Cinémental film festival will take place at the CCFM during the last two weeks of October (the 23, 24, 25 of October and the 30, 31 of October and 1st of November).  The program is offering comedies, dramas, animated films – there’s something for all tastes and all ages.

For your information

The CCFM has other surprises up its sleeve for this fall and winter, online and in person at 340 Provencher Blvd.  If you choose to go in person to Saint-Boniface, bring your mask!  The CCFM is following public health recommendations:  the capacity has been reduced to 30% and concerts are played in the biggest rooms possible to allow for physical distancing.
