Theatre at the Cercle Molière Theatre

The Urban Indigenous Theatre Company (UITC) created its own show “Perceptions” as a multidisciplinary performance “because we are all people with multiple facets.  What you perceive, enlightened by a life of experience, isn’t necessarily me.  I am intestines, veins, and tendons sewn together like string.  Come see for yourselves. Let your spirit open and see what your eyes can’t.”

The show has performances at the TCM on Provencher Blvd.:

The Pen and the Paintbrush

A creative improvisation game between authors and artists?  Words mixed with images? That’s what the AAMF (Association of French Manitoban Authors) is promising in collaboration with Les Éditions du Blé and the Maison des artistes visuels francophones.

An Art Contest

The Manitoba Society of artists is hosting a virtual expo with the proposed theme of “Manitoba Muse Art Show” where 61 artists are presenting 143 works.  The program will feature prairies, polar bears, northern lights, but that’s not all!

Exhibitions 

The Maison des artistes visuels francophones that I wrote about a few weeks ago welcomes two exhibitions in October:  “Je suis ici” by James Culleton and “La durée” by Janine-Annette Littmann.  In the first, a series of works representing what the artist sees, and where he’s going.  In the second, we find embroidery and cyanotypes.

The Maison des artistes visuels francophones is open to the public at 219 Provencher Blvd. Wednesday to Friday from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm and Saturday from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Visitors must wear a mask and there is a maximum of 10 people allowed in the gallery at a time.

Music

On Wednesday, October 7, from 12 noon to 1:00 pm, the hall and entrance of the Saint-Boniface Hospital will be filled with the sound of soloist Kathleen Hiley and students from the Manitoba Chamber Orchestra.  The Landscape Dancers dance troop, socially distanced with masks on, will also be performing.

The Saint-Boniface Hospital is located at 409 Taché Avenue.

Litterature 

The Éditions du Blé is also participating in Culture Days with a tête-à-tête between two Franco-Manitoban authors, in collaboration with the Historic Society of Saint-Boniface, the CCFM, the LGBTQ Collective of Manitoba and the Association of French Manitoban Authors.  It will be Bernard Mulaire in conversation with J.R. Léveillé.

The event will take place live on the Éditions du Blé Facebook page on October 6 from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
